Job summary

Goochland Powhatan Community Services is seeking a Full-Time Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. You will provide case management and advocacy to adolescents and adults living with substance use disorders on our OBAT team, with a focus on opioid use disorders.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and/or CSAC-S, 1–2 years of related experience, and a valid Virginia driver’s license. Open until filled; EOE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field (Social Work, Counseling or Psychology) and/or CSAC-S; CSAC preferred.
• 1–2 years of case management/care coordination experience with SUD.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Connects clients with services, advocates for access to care, and offers supportive counseling.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

SUD care coordinator provides case management services to adolescents and adults living with substance use disorders. Case management includes connecting the client with services, advocacy, and providing supportive counseling to aid with coping with substance use disorders, with special focus on individuals with Opioid use disorders on our OBAT team. SUD Care coordinator will document visits and supports within agency and state guidelines.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field of study (example include Social Work, Counseling or Psychology) and/or CSAC-S. CSAC preferred.

Experience

One to two years related experience in case management/care coordination working with individuals with Opiate Use and other Substance Use Disorders. Experience necessary for credentialing as a Qualified Mental Health Provider may be considered.
