Job summary

Davison Community Schools seeks qualified staff to support at-risk students and families, establish team meetings, and monitor student progress through a structured Success Program. Communication with homes and school personnel will occur via letters, email, and calls, with data-tracking and home visits as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous work experience with at-risk school aged children.
  • Ability to work with at-risk students and their families.
  • Knowledge of community and county agencies and services available to individuals and families.
  • Experience as a child counselor, psychologist, behavioral specialist preferred.
  • Demonstrate mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to work with school and county agency professionals.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with parents, students, teachers, counselors, and agency professionals.
  • Ability to assist students and parents in the pursuit of success.
  • Be open to continuous change.
  • Knowledge of school policy and procedures governing academics, attendance, and behavior.
  • Ability to facilitate student group sessions.
  • Be an excellent communicator with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and facilitate team meetings for at-risk students as necessary.
  • Monitor progress of Success Program Students and meet with students on a weekly basis or as needed.
  • Communicate Success Program Student progress to the home and appropriate school personnel via letters, email, and telephone calls.
  • Use data tracking system to monitor behavior and attendance each week.
  • Make home visits if necessary.
  • Assist families with agency involvement as necessary.
  • Oversee student lunch periods & supervise lunch.
  • The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
