Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a Planning Engineer to direct and review long-range electric subtransmission system plans and oversee capital project initiation. You will collaborate with Transmission, Distribution Design, and Region Engineering teams to ensure robust planning practices and modeling alignment with GIS and planning tools.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred), and 5+ years of relevant experience with a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• MS in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• PE license preferred; 5+ years of engineering experience; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct, review, and perform studies to develop long-range electric subtransmission system plans.
• Oversee initiation of capital projects with Design, Control and Region Engineering teams.
• Review generation interconnection studies, DER analysis, load additions, and subtransmission analyses.
• Collaborate with planning groups in Ameren MO, Transmission and Ameren IL on common practices and tools.
• Provide operating personnel with technical support on outages, voltage problems, and system issues.
• Support planning tool/process improvements and training of the planning team.
