Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington is hiring Substitute Youth Development Professionals to provide as-needed support at elementary and teen Clubhouses in Vancouver, WA. You will help plan activities, guide youth, and model positive behavior in a safe environment.

The role requires being 21+, passing background checks, and being able to work after-school and summer hours on an on-call basis. Compensation ranges from $17.75 to $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Must pass a national criminal background check, a social security verification, a local criminal background check, and a national sex offender registry check.
• Prior experience working with youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and implementation of activities for youth in program areas (Education, Tech, Art, Gym, Games).
• Provide behavioral guidance using conflict resolution techniques, restorative practices, and problem-solving.
• Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior, and act as a role model for youth.
• Create and maintain a safe environment through active supervision and clear expectations.
