Kokua Education invites you to join our substitute teaching team in Newark, New Jersey. Help bridge teacher shortages by delivering engaging instruction and role-modeling to K-12 students in local schools.

We offer a flexible, weekday schedule with typical hours from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm and a straightforward hiring process. Earn up to $190/day, with $160 for daily assignments and $180 for long-term roles, plus W-2 employment and license reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and be eligible to substitute teach in NJ.
• Must be able to pass state and federal background checks.
• 1+ year of experience working with students and managing a classroom.

You’ll need:

• Bachelors Degree
• New Jersey Substitute Teaching Credential
  • Holders of an instructional Certificate of Eligibility (CE), Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS), a standard instructional certificate, or an administrative or educational services certificate shall not be required to obtain a substitute credential before serving as a substitute teacher.

• 1+ year(s) experience working with students
• Confidence to manage a classroom of students
• Ability to pass state & federal background check
