Job summary

Kokua Education in New York City invites substitute teachers for the 2026-27 school year. You can set your own schedule and earn up to $210/day, with weekly pay, in a role that makes a real difference in students' lives.

You’ll be eligible for paid sick days, and there is a path to permanent roles at high-performing K-12 schools. A Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year of K-12 experience are preferred, with opportunities across NYC-area campuses.

Responsibilities

• Cover lessons and supervise activities as needed.

You’ll earn:

• $210/day with weekly paychecks
• $182/day for daily positions and $210/day for long-term positions
• Paid via W-2, meaning no year-end tax headaches
• Paid sick days (accrued once you start teaching)

Preference given to candidates willing to commute to 2+ boroughs, and are available to teach 3 days/week.
