Job summary

Kokua Education in Minneapolis is seeking substitute teachers to set their own schedule and earn up to $195/day while supporting local K-12 schools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• MN Substitute Teaching License or Educators license is required.
• At least 6 months working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
• Be willing to work at least 2 days per week.
• Pass state & federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments).

Responsibilities

• Teach in K-12 classrooms across Minneapolis area.
• Set up and manage lessons and classroom activities.
• Supervise during lunch/recess and testing season as needed.
• Support students and adapt instruction for diverse needs.

• Up to $195/day with weekly paychecks
• $178 for daily positions and $195 for long-term positions
• Paid via W-2, meaning no year-end tax headaches

• Feel confident managing a classroom of students
• Are willing to step in where needed - this could include lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season
• Are willing to work at least 2 days/week
