Job summary

Kokua Education is seeking substitute teachers in the Denver, CO area for the 2026-27 school year. You can set your own schedule, teach in K-12 classrooms, and help shape students’ learning experiences.

Earn up to $220/day with weekly paychecks and potential for long-term positions. We reimburse background check costs after 10 assignments and provide support from 6am-8pm daily. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, with consideration for non-degreed candidates based on experience.

Qualifications

• Background checks required; costs reimbursed after 10 assignments.

• At least 1 year of experience working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
• Comfortable managing a classroom and stepping in where needed.

Responsibilities

• Cover lessons and deliver activities as assigned.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and transitions.
• Support teachers with classroom routines and student engagement.
• Provide tutoring or proctoring during testing season when required.

You’ll earn:

• $220/day with weekly paychecks
• $170-200 for daily positions and $187-220 for long-term positions, dependent on experience and certification
• Paid via W-2, meaning no year-end tax headaches
