Job summary

Heartland Area Education Agency Adel Regional Office in Adel, Iowa is seeking a Substitute Teacher for the HEART Therapeutic Classroom Program for the 2025-26 school year. The HEART program partners with Winterset Community Schools to provide an appropriate educational program for youth in therapeutic classrooms as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Candidates must hold Iowa Board of Educational Examiners licensure or an Iowa substitute license.

Qualifications

Heartland AEA has a substitute teacher positions available located within the Winterset Community Schools supporting the Therapeutic Classrooms for the 2025-26 school year. The HEART Therapeutic Classroom Program creates connections with students, families, and schools to cultivate social skills to last a lifetime. This position will provide an appropriate educational program for each child/youth being served in the therapeutic classrooms and will be a member of a multidisciplinary team that collaborates to support the design, implementation, and decision-making regarding therapeutic classroom supports.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must be appropriately licensed by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or possess an Iowa substitute teacher license. Candidates should be whole-child focused, patient, caring, have a positive attitude, and have strong interpersonal skills. Pay rate: $27.33 per hour. (Open until filled)
