Job summary

Penmac Education Staffing is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in the Warren County R3 School District. You will have the flexibility to create your own schedule and choose which grade levels, buildings, and subjects you teach.

We provide training and ongoing support to help you succeed in the classroom. Responsibilities include following lesson plans, managing the classroom, adapting instruction to individual needs, supervising students, and preparing assignments.

Qualifications

• Have 36 college credit hours (in any subject) OR complete an online training program designated by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Obtain a Missouri Teaching License or Substitute Certificate.
• Complete a fingerprint background check.
• Complete required training provided by Penmac.
• Enjoy interacting with students and providing quality instruction.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom including hallways, playground, and cafeteria.
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on lesson plans.
• For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans aligned with prior teacher plans.

Substitute Teachers play a vital role in providing quality education to our children. You will have the flexibility of creating your own schedule and setting your preferences for which grade levels, school buildings, and subject matter areas you would like to teach in. Penmac provides training and ongoing support to substitute teachers to ensure you have the tools and skills needed to succeed in the classroom.

Responsibilities of a Substitute Teacher include:

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria.
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plans.
• For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans.

To become a Substitute Teacher, you must:

• Have 36 college credit hours (in any subject) OR complete an online training program designated by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
• Obtain a Missouri Teaching License or Substitute Certificate
