Job summary

Penmac Education Staffing is seeking Substitute Teachers for Republic School District. You will follow lesson plans, manage classrooms, and adapt instruction to student needs. The role offers flexible scheduling and weekly pay, with benefits starting from the first week.

Ideal candidates hold 36 college credits or Missouri-approved training, plus a Missouri teaching license or substitute certificate. A fingerprint background check and Penmac training are required.

Qualifications

• Must have 36 college credits hours (in any subject) or complete an online training program designated by the Missouri DESE
• Must obtain a Missouri Teaching License or Substitute Certificate
• Fingerprint background check and Penmac training required
• Enjoy interacting with students and providing quality instruction to ensure a consistent learning experience

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria.
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan(s).
• For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans.
