Job summary

Union Gap School District is seeking a substitute teacher in Union Gap, WA, with a valid Washington State teaching certificate. The role pays $200.00 per day and supports instructional continuity when regular teachers are out.

Applicants should have or be eligible for the WA certificate and may have prior substitute teaching experience. The position requires following established lesson plans, maintaining classroom order, and adapting instruction to diverse learners.

• Follow all lesson plans and other instructions provided by the regular teacher and/or school.
• Assume responsibility for duties assigned to the regular teacher.
• Provide instruction and modify instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management.
• Create a safe and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Foster a positive attitude with students, parents and staff.
• Utilize effective human relations and/or communication skills.
• Complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
