Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the substitute teacher will be primarily responsible for providing students with a relevant education in the absence of the regular teacher. Substitute teachers guide students in attaining the knowledge and skills necessary for success during their educational career and prepare them to become college and career ready after graduation. They also help students learn the skills and attitudes necessary to achieve a responsible, productive, and fulfilling life in our changing world.

Compensation / Pay Range

Non-Certified Instructional Substitutes: $140/day for days 1-29, $150/day for days 30-59, $160/day for days 60 and over.

Certified Instructional Substitutes: $165/day for days 1-29, $175/day for days 30-59, $185/day for days 60 and over.

If working for 15 or more days consecutively for the same instructional staff member, rate will be $225/day.

• Provide clear standards of conduct for student behavior.
• Interacting with students in a respectful manner.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members.
