Job summary

Brocton Central School District is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide temporary instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Immediate start; duties include supervising students, delivering pre-planned lessons, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and an Associate’s Degree (minimum), plus strong communication and classroom-management skills.

Job Description:

The Substitute Teacher provides temporary instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Responsibilities include managing classroom behavior, delivering pre-planned lessons, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment, and ensuring continuity of instruction. The Substitute Teacher must follow school policies and work under the guidance of school administration and/or certified staff when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise students in a classroom setting.
• Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher.
• Manage student behavior and ensure classroom order.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Report attendance, incidents, or concerns to appropriate staff.
• Follow district and school policies and procedures.
