Minimum Requirements

• New York State Certified Teacher preferred
• Non-certified teachers accepted on an as needed basis
• Must have completed 60 college credit hours
• Must possess the ability to interact effectively with staff, students and parents
• Must demonstrate professional demeanor
• Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must be punctual and dependable

Position Summary / Responsibilities

• Provide per diem instructional services for various levels and subject areas
• Follow established lesson plan for each assignment
• Manage student behavior as needed
• Hours vary per building and assignment
• Follow directions given by school administration and/or cooperating teacher

Salary and Pay Scale

• Uncertified Substitute Teacher: $130.00/Day
• NYS Certified Substitute Teacher: $165.00/Day
• NYS Certified Career Substitute Teacher: $185.00/Day

All new employees must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment through the NYSED before employment begins.
