ABOUT THE ROLE
Arbor Associates is seeking licensed Elementary Substitute Teachers for per diem and long-term contract placements at a public school in Providence, RI. Substitutes will cover elementary classrooms across grade levels as needed, stepping into an active co-teaching model where each classroom serves 30–32 students with two teachers present. This is an excellent opportunity for educators who want consistent, meaningful work in a school that values its staff. Bilingual candidates and those holding Special Education licensure are especially encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow lesson plans left by the classroom teacher and deliver instruction in a clear, engaging manner appropriate to the grade level.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment for 30–32 students.
- Support the co-teaching model by collaborating with the classroom's other teacher when present.
- Manage student behavior consistently and in accordance with school policies and expectations.
- Differentiate support for students with varied learning needs, including those with IEPs and English language learners.
- Accurately document attendance, follow school procedures, and communicate any classroom concerns to school staff.
- Represent Arbor Associates professionally and serve as a reliable, dependable presence in the school community.
