Job summary

ESS is seeking a substitute teacher to assist in classrooms when a regular teacher is absent in Center, Missouri. The role requires following lesson plans and school routines while engaging students in learning.

You will help maintain a safe classroom, report injuries or illnesses, and carry out additional duties as directed by administration. Certifications and clearances are mandatory per district requirements.

Qualifications

• 36 College Credits or completion of the Frontline 20 hour course.
• Substitute Teacher Certification from Dept of Education is required.
• State/FBI Criminal History Clearance is required.
• Family Care Safety Registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement regular teacher’s routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration.

Job description

An ESS substitute teacher assists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This person follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed.
