Job summary

ESS is seeking a substitute teacher to assist with classroom instruction when the regular teacher is absent at the Early Childhood Center in Hannibal, MO.

You will follow lesson plans, support student learning, maintain routines, and help create a safe, orderly classroom environment. This role requires a HS Diploma or GED, Missouri Content Certificate, and background checks. Strong communication with staff and ability to manage student behavior are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Missouri Content Certificate or equivalent teaching credential.
• Criminal history background check clearance required.
• FCSR registration for child abuse/neglect background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement regular teacher’s routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration.

Job description

An ESS substitute teacher assists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This person follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed. This position will be working specifically at the Early Childhood Center.
