Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience working with students with physical, cognitive and/or mild behavioral needs preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to be a team member.
• Flexibility based on program and student needs.
• Ability to assist students in individual or group settings and in community settings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out duties in line with each student’s IEP.
• Assist students in individual and group settings.
• Provide instructional interventions or accommodations as outlined in IEP.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver instruction.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, field trips and bus duty.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Address disagreements constructively and follow building policies.
