Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant at Forestview Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. The part-time role (30 hours/week) supports students with IEP goals across classrooms, PE, lunchroom, bus loading area and common spaces. Non-exempt with full benefits; ED MN union.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP goals, assisting in both resource and inclusive settings, and collaborating with teachers and service providers to ensure student safety and progress.

Qualifications

• Must meet highly-qualified paraprofessional requirements (two-year degree or 60 credits).
• Experience with students with physical, cognitive and/or mild behavioral needs.
• Handle with Care training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Carry out goals in students' IEPs across settings.
• Assist students in resource or inclusive settings and community.
• Provide interventions and accommodations per IEP.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to ensure student safety and success.
• Supervise students during lunch, field trips, and bus duty.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships.
