Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant for Enrichment and Extracurricular Support. This district-wide role supports students with IEPs/IFSPs and assists in individual and group settings.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP/IFSP interventions, modeling skills, supervising breaks, and collaborating with instructors. Hours vary; salary ranges from $16.50 to $18.40 per hour. Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism; flexibility is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with physical, cognitive, and/or mild behavioral needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to be a member of a team.
• Ability to be flexible based on program and student needs.
• Ability to assist students in individual or group settings.
• Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Carry out duties outlined in a students IEP.
• Assist students in individual and group settings.
• Provide specialized instruction/interventions/accommodations as outlined in the IFSP/IEP.
• Demonstrate developmental and behavioral skills through play or interaction with the child.
• Assist the individual student in self-help and independent living skills.
• Supervise students during break times to ensure safety.
• Participate physically with the students in activities being taught.
• Work cooperatively with instructor or coach and follow class or activity structure.
• Maintain confidentiality.
