Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools in Lincoln Education Center seeks a Special Education Assistant (EBD) for a 1-year assignment. The role supports students with diverse needs across classrooms, lunchroom, and activity spaces, following IEP objectives and collaborating with staff.

Responsibilities include implementing interventions, assisting in both resource and inclusive settings, and guiding daily living skills while maintaining confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with physical, cognitive and/or mild behavioral needs.
• Handle with Care Training – certification required within three months of hiring.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to be a team member.
• Flexibility based on program and student needs.
• Ability to implement therapies and programs per IEP; may involve daily living activities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out duties in a student's IEP across settings.
• Assist students in individual and group settings in resource or inclusive settings.
• Provide specialized instruction/interventions as outlined in IEP.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver classroom instruction.
• Support development of daily living and self-help skills.
• Supervise students during lunch, field trips, and bus duty.
