Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools seeks a Long Term Substitute Special Education Assistant at Lincoln Education Center. The role supports students in IEP-governed activities across classrooms, lunchroom, and bus areas, working with a building principal and SPED staff.

The assignment runs 12/07/2026 through 06/04/2027, 7 hours daily, Mon-Fri, non-exempt. The position pays $16.00 per hour with paid sick leave and ESST benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with physical, cognitive and/or mild behavioral needs.
• Ability to work as part of a team with teachers and related staff.
• Handle with Care training to be completed within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in individual or group settings per IEP goals.
• Support in classrooms, lunchroom, bus loading area and during specials.
• Model appropriate skills, supervise during meals, recess and field trips.
• Maintain confidentiality and collaborate with the education team.
• Follow district policies and report suspected abuse/neglect.
