Job summary

Williamston Community Schools in Michigan is seeking a Substitute School Bus Driver for a part-time role starting ASAP. The position offers $22.45 per hour with a potential $3,000 annual bonus, and training and licensing are provided.

Responsibilities include safely transporting students, maintaining order, performing routine bus safety checks, and keeping records. Candidates must have a high school diploma, be 21+, hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and pass background/drug

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Able to pass the commercial driving test after training.
• Enjoy working with children.

Responsibilities

• Follow all laws while driving and meet Department of Education requirements.
• Provide safe transportation and maintain order among students.
• Keep accurate records and perform routine safety inspections of the bus.
• Maintain a clean interior and exterior of the bus.
• Promote positive relations with students, parents, and staff.
• Follow transportation policies and protect confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.

POSITION: Substitute School Bus Driver

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Must pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to pass the commercial driving test once trained or have a commercial driver’s license
• Enjoy working with children

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all Federal, State, and Department of Education laws and regulations while driving
• Provide safe transportation for and maintain order amongst all assigned students
• Keep accurate records and route updatesConduct routine safety inspections of the bus before and after each route
• Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior and exterior
• Promote positive public relations with students, parents, and other school personnel
• Follow all school transportation policies and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality for all school-related information
• Perform other duties assigned by the Transportation Supervisor

SALARY: Starting Wage $22.45 per hour, Up to $3,000 bonus annually, Training and licensing provided
