Job summary

Williamston Community Schools is hiring a School Bus Driver to ensure safe, reliable transportation for students. The role requires maintaining order on routes, recording updates, and conducting pre/post trip safety checks.

The position emphasizes a clean driving record, background checks, and the ability to pass a CDL test if needed. Training is provided, with a benefits package and opportunities for overtime, as described in the transportation agreement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Ability to pass the commercial driving test once trained or have a commercial driver’s license.
• Enjoy working with children.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Federal, State, and Department of Education laws and regulations while driving.
• Provide safe transportation for and maintain order amongst all assigned students.
• Keep accurate records and route updates.
• Conduct routine safety inspections of the bus before and after each route.
• Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior and exterior.
• Promote positive public relations with students, parents, and other school personnel.
• Follow all school transportation policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality for all school-related information.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.

SALARY

Per the Transportation Agreement ($22.45-25.82 per hour, depending on experience)
