Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a part-time Preschool Teacher (Substitute) for the Gresham site in Multnomah County. The role emphasizes delivering safe, developmentally appropriate preschool experiences aligned with Head Start standards and family engagement.

Responsibilities include curriculum planning, individualizing instruction, maintaining portfolios, and collaborating with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Early childhood education or child development AND 6 months of preschool teaching experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early childhood education or child development AND 6 months of preschool teaching experience.
• Oregon Registry steps may be required for credentialing in metro locations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-age children.
• Plan and implement curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards.
• Individualize instruction based on observations, assessments, and family goals.
• Maintain child portfolios and documentation of progress.
• Promote cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development.
• Communicate regularly with families about child progress and classroom activities.
