Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) seeks qualified Preschool Teachers to deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children across Oregon.

Responsibilities include planning lessons aligned with Head Start standards, individualizing instruction, and maintaining child portfolios, with strong family engagement and collaboration with health and education staff.

Qualifications

• Preschool Teacher A: Associate’s degree in Early childhood education or child development, or related coursework with 6 months of teaching experience.
• Preschool Teacher B: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development, or related coursework with 6 months of teaching experience.
• Oregon Registry Step 9 or higher (A) / Step 10 or higher (B) per degree pathway; metro locations extra detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-age children.
• Plan and implement curriculum aligned with Head Start standards and best practices.
• Individualize instruction based on observations, assessments, and family goals.
• Conduct developmental screenings, assessments, and maintain child portfolios.
• Promote cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development.
• Communicate regularly with families about child progress and activities.
• Support family engagement through conferences, home visits, and classroom involvement.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to classroom staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate with education, health, mental health, and disability staff as needed.
• Maintain records and program documentation; ensure compliance.
• Promote healthy practices related to nutrition, safety, and wellness.

Assoc. degree in ECE/CD
