Job summary

The Dalles site of Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is hiring for a Preschool Teacher. The role focuses on delivering a developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children, aligned with Head Start standards and daily routines in a supportive classroom.

Qualifications

• Preschool Teacher A: Associate’s degree in Early childhood education or child development and 6 months of teaching experience; Oregon Registry Step 9+.
• Preschool Teacher B: Bachelor’s degree in Early childhood education or child development and 6 months of teaching experience; Oregon Registry Step 10+.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-age children.
• Plan and implement curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and best practices.
• Individualize instruction based on observations, assessments, and family goals.
• Conduct developmental screenings and maintain child portfolios and documentation.
• Promote cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development.
• Communicate regularly with families about child progress and activities.
• Support family engagement through conferences, home visits, and classroom involvement.
• Provide leadership and coaching to classroom staff and volunteers.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of child and family information.

Education
