East St Louis School District 189 is seeking a Substitute Personal Care Aide/Auxiliary Aide for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports students with disabilities in transportation and classroom settings, under the supervision of the Director of Special Education and school staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with toileting, feeding, daily living activities, behavior records, and attendance at mandatory trainings to develop skills for working with students with disabilities.

Formación

• Attend to the toileting needs of students.
• Assist children with eating where assistance is required.
• Assist children with activities of daily living-dressing, ect.
• Keep records of behavior as mandated by student needs.
• Maintain schedule of the student assigned for individual care unless otherwise changed by principal or special education administration.
• Provide physical support as needed to access the curriculum.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure that students enter and leave the bus in a safe manner.
• Ensure that students are properly and safely seated at all times.
• Provide attention to students with special health needs, such as seizures.
• Report and assist with keeping records of all major discipline problems, accidents, and current bus roster.
• Attend to the toileting needs of students.
• Assist children with eating where assistance is required.
• Assist children with activities of daily living-dressing, ect.
• Keep records of behavior as mandated by student needs.
• Maintain schedule of the student assigned for individual care unless otherwise changed by principal or special education administration.
• Provide physical support as needed to access the curriculum.
• Attend in-service meetings and trainings which is considered mandatory and is given to all aides to develop skills and special techniques unique to students with disabilities.
• Additional duties as assigned by the teacher and administrator.
