SUBSTITUTE PERSONAL CARE AIDE / AUXILIARY AIDE

TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE: (School Bus)

• 1. Ensure that students enter and leave the bus in a safe manner.
• 2. Ensure that students are properly and safely seated at all times.
• 3. Provide attention to students with special health needs, such as seizures.
• 4. Report and assist with keeping records of all major discipline problems, accidents, and current bus roster.

CLASSROOM ASSISTANCE:

• 1. Attend to the toileting needs of students. This includes routine bathroom scheduling, clean up of toileting accidents and vomit.
• 2. Assist children with eating where assistance is required.
• 3. Assist children with activities of daily living-dressing, ect.
• 4. Keep records of behavior as mandated by student needs.
• 5. Maintain schedule of the student assigned for individual care unless otherwise changed by principal or special education administration.
• 6. Provide physical support as needed to access the curriculum (i.e. assistance with walking or student's physical preparations for class).

OTHER DUTIES:

• 1. Attend in-service meetings and trainings which is considered mandatory and is given to all aides to develop skills and special techniques unique to students with disabilities.
• 2. Additional duties as assigned by the teacher and administrator.
