Job summary

Minnesota State Academy for the Blind is seeking a Substitute Paraprofessional (Intermittent) to support classroom instruction and student management on an as-needed basis. This is a State of Minnesota position and is not benefits-eligible.

Under supervision, you will assist with reading, writing, mathematics and readiness activities for blind/visually impaired students, adapt instructional approaches, and help maintain records in line with policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credits or higher (60 credits) or an associate’s degree or passing Parapro/Paraeducator assessment.
• Experience as a caregiver with students in educational or dormitory settings.
• Ability to read and write English to understand policies, procedures, and education plans.
• Strong human relations skills to establish rapport and instruct students.
