Job summary

Mn State Academies in Faribault, MN is seeking a Paraprofessional-Intermittent to support Special Education Program Assistant duties at the MN State Academy for the Deaf. You will substitute and assist with classroom instruction and student management under supervision.

Positions require ASL skills; applicants must have two years of college credits or an associate degree, and be able to read/write English. Schedule follows the school calendar; not eligible for benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credits (60 credits) or an associate’s or higher degree.
• Ability to read and write English sufficiently to understand policies and records.
• Knowledge of the deaf/hard of hearing and deaf/blind students and their educational practices.

Responsibilities

• Provides substitute paraprofessional classroom instruction or student management aide support.
• Under general supervision, contributes to the design and delivery of academic instructional programs for deaf/hard of hearing or deaf/blind students.
• Provides educational instruction and uses a variety of techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors.
