Job summary

Hardy County Board of Education is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for the 2026-2027 school year. The position requires a state-approved LPN program completion and WV license, plus First Aid/CPR certification. A background check and mandated WVDE trainings are required, with accommodations possible where needed.

Salary is based on the 2026-2027 salary scale. Start date for the 2026-2027 school year and application details are available upon request.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completed an LPN program state approved, passed the LPN licensing exam, and licensed by the state of WV as an LPN.
• Criminal background check conducted per WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
• Must have and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
• Must provide verification of successful completion of First Aid/CPR—official card not required.
• Complete all required county and WVDE trainings.
• Ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities as contained in the Job Description, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Applicants with recent unsatisfactory evaluations are not eligible for consideration.
• Applicants with unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration.
• Applicants with unfavorable reference recommendations are not eligible for consideration.
• Applicants who have been dismissed or had contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.
