Tulsa Technology Center in Tulsa, OK seeks a Welding Substitute Instructor to educate and supervise students in welding labs. The role requires maintaining a safe lab, enforcing PPE and safety practices, and delivering instruction using program-approved materials.

Educate and train students to gain skills, knowledge and behaviors and support their successful entry into the workplace or higher education, in a manner that supports the program within industry and the community and is consistent with District Core Values.
Essential Job Functions:
Effectively manage the classroom in the absence of the full-time instructor to create an optimal learning environment, maintaining an appropriate balance of classroom discipline.
Provide instruction and supervise students in classroom and lab setting using appropriate instructional strategies and program approved equipment and materials (i.e., classroom, self-paced, Blackboard interactive website, lab, clinicals, etc.).
Maintain a safe welding lab environment by enforcing all established District, campus, program, and industry safety procedures; continuously monitor students during lab activities; require appropriate personal protective equipment; and immediately address unsafe practices or conditions.
Job Requirements:
Demonstrated proficiency in welding practices and procedures, including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW, sufficient to safely instruct and supervise students in a welding laboratory.
Demonstrated knowledge of welding/shop safety practices, including personal protective equipment, ventilation and respiratory protection, fire prevention, compressed gas cylinder safety, electrical safety, equipment operation, and hazardous materials procedures.
Demonstration of welding skills may be required as part of the selection process.
Related industry certifications are preferred.
Valid state issued driver's license.

Salary Schedule:
Standard rate schedule for non-regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part-time employees
Hiring Range:
$30/hr for Welding Substitute Instructor assignments; $15/hr for General Substitute Instructor assignments.
