Tulsa Tech is seeking a Substitute Instructor – Welding to educate and train students, guiding them to gain welding skills and prepare for workplace or further education.
You will manage the classroom in the absence of the full‑time instructor, supervise in lab settings, and ensure strict adherence to safety procedures while maintaining attendance records and coordinating with the lead instructor. Flexibility in scheduling is required.

Educate and train students to gain skills, knowledge and behaviors and support their successful entry into the workplace or higher education, in a manner that supports the program within industry and the community and is consistent with District Core Values.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Effectively manage the classroom in the absence of the full‑time instructor to create an optimal learning environment, maintaining an appropriate balance of classroom discipline.
2. Provide instruction and supervise students in classroom and lab setting using appropriate instructional strategies and program approved equipment and materials (i.e., classroom, self‑paced, Blackboard interactive website, lab, clinicals, etc.).
3. Maintain a safe welding lab environment by enforcing all established District, campus, program, and industry safety procedures; continuously monitor students during lab activities; require appropriate personal protective equipment; and immediately address unsafe practices or conditions.
4. Adhere to the daily routine, classroom procedures and schedules provided by the full‑time instructor.
5. Maintain up‑to‑date records of student attendance as required by district policy and certification agencies.
6. Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

Salary Schedule:
Standard rate schedule for non‑regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part‑time employees
Hiring Range:
$30/hr for Welding Substitute Instructor assignments; $15/hr for General Substitute Instructor assignments.
