Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking qualifications-based professionals to coordinate testing and technical services for Transmission and Distribution substation projects. This role collaborates with Utility Operations, Construction & Design Services, and Transmission & Substation Services to ensure safety and reliability.

The position requires a BSEE or related field, or 3 years of equivalent construction experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related technical field required.
• In lieu of a degree, 3 years of experience in utility, commercial or industrial construction required.
• Experience in electrical substation construction and/or maintenance required.
• Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills to aid in the resolution of compliance issues.
• Demonstrated ability in using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
• Self-motivated and a self-starter, customer focused, and results oriented.
• Sound analytical abilities involving complex problems; exercise sound judgment.
• Demonstrated experience in accomplishing responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to aid in the resolution of complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Continually seeking to improve the safety climate by controlling and reducing exposure for self and others.
• Monitoring and promoting the use of human performance tools and practices to protect people and system reliability.
• Ensuring adherence to all safety, quality, and FirstEnergy specifications.
• Participating in project status updates meetings with Project Managers and contracted resources.
• Understanding the construction scope of assigned projects, including any potential problems and constraints.
• Participating in pre-construction planning meetings. Providing experience to the project team for development in work packages.
• Assisting with constructability reviews and post project lessons learned discussions.
