Job summary

FirstEnergy seeks a field engineer to provide engineering services and technical support for maintenance, construction, testing and commissioning of substations up to 500kV. The role involves extensive field work at substations and service centers across the FirstEnergy system.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (ABET) with 2+ years of experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• FE Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide field engineering services and technical support for maintenance, construction, testing and commissioning of substations up to 500kV.
• Develop and review check-out guides, test results, and energization plans.
• Provide onsite technical support during preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
