Job summary

TRC, Member of WSP, is seeking a skilled Technician to support transmission and distribution substation operations. You will help ensure system reliability, safety, and compliance with standards, performing testing and calibration tasks.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience and a background in electrical technology, SCADA and protection systems. This position offers competitive benefits and a path for career growth within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration.
• Experience with substation relaying and control schemes.
• Knowledge of 3-phase power systems and protection schemes.
• Ability to read wiring/diagrams and perform basic testing.
• Education in BET or AET at technical college or university.
• Experience with SCADA, SER, and integration automation testing.

Responsibilities

• Test and maintain substation relays, control systems, and regulators.
• Calibrate protective relays and apply relay settings per standards.
• Program LTC and voltage regulator controllers.
• Troubleshoot and repair relays and control devices in substations.
• Plan testing activities and maintain schedules for continuity.
• Document testing procedures, results, and configurations.
