Job summary

AEP is seeking a Station Servicer to perform installation, maintenance and repair of station equipment in San Benito, TX. You will respond to emergency calls, perform switching, inspect stations, and supervise maintenance contractors when needed.

Requirements include an Associate degree or equivalent, 24 months of related experience, a valid Class A CDL, and ability to read electrical drawings. Travel may be required, and overtime responsiveness is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Satisfactory work experience as a Station Electrician A or Station Servicer A with overtime readiness.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and understand switching procedures.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls on station trouble; analyze station conditions following failures and repair if safe and practicable, otherwise coordinate prompt restoration of service.
• Perform routine and emergency switching operations at substations as directed by proper authority, including Be proficient at EHV switching as necessary.
• Perform switching operations for line construction and maintenance activities as required.
• Inspect assigned stations on schedule; oversee maintenance contractors; report major repair needs to proper authority.
• Independently perform minor maintenance activities and repairs; collect data via asset management software and report readings and conditions.
• Maintain station lighting, security, and perimeter; ensure safety and compliance with procedures.
