Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Station Servicer to perform installation, maintenance, operation, inspection and repair of station equipment. You will respond to emergencies, coordinate restorations of service, and work under supervision to ensure safety and reliability for customers.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, CDL Class A, and the ability to travel as needed. AEP emphasizes safety, documentation, and adherence to company procedures in all tasks.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent education/experience in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology.
Equivalent education/experience may include military technical training or related roles.
Recent experience as a Station Electrician A or Station Servicer A with required qualifications.

Responsibilities

Respond to emergency calls on station trouble and coordinate restoration of service.
Perform routine and emergency switching operations at substations.
Inspect assigned stations and oversee maintenance contractors as needed.
Lead DC Supply installation and repair work with proper documentation.
Ensure NERC compliance in switching procedures and equipment operation.
Maintain records and prepare reports using Asset software.
