Job summary

East River Electric Cooperative is seeking a Substation Equipment and PCB Technician to join our transmission system team in Madison, SD. You will install, maintain, test, and repair substation equipment and control panels, while leveraging SCADA data to verify operations and ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires an associate degree in a relevant field, 2+ years of experience preferred, and a CDL or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in a relevant electrical field.
  • Prefer 2+ years of related work experience.
  • CDL Class A or ability to obtain CDL.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, update, test, and upkeep substation equipment and control panels.
  • Analyze regulator panels and SCADA data to ensure proper operation.
  • Operate heavy equipment and assist with underground locates.
  • Maintain thorough records and reports per policies and standards.
  • Perform oil testing and analyze results to maintain equipment quality.
  • Support inventory management and propose efficiency improvements.
  • Foster safety and encourage a safety-focused mindset.
