Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Substation Supervisor in Erie, PA to lead electrical transmission and distribution construction teams on-site. You will oversee breakers, switches, transformers, bus work and related structures, ensuring safety and adherence to standards while coordinating with other departments for timely project completion.

Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of transmission and distribution systems, supervisory experience, and the ability to train staff in established practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 5–7 years in electrical field required.
• Advanced knowledge of transmission and distribution systems.
• Some supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to coach and mentor teams to strong safety practices.
• Able to learn CASCADE, CREWS, SAP, POWERON and GIS tools.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and direct a strong safety commitment.
• Supervise employees in transmission and distribution construction work.
• Direct substation activities for breakers, switches, transformers and bus work.
• Respond to emergencies and support system reliability and restoration crews.
• Coordinate equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
• Coordinate with other departments and scheduling of work.
• Deliver strong internal and external customer service.
• Counsel employees and acknowledge good work; enforce standards.
• Train substation staff in established practices and methods.
• Administer absenteeism and regional safety plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
