Job summary

WSP is seeking an Intermediate Substation Structural Engineer to join our Power Delivery Civil/Structural Group. The role focuses on planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural solutions for electrical substations across multiple locations, including Freeport, ME and Hallowell, ME.

You will support staff and project managers, producing reports and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Applicant should have 1–3 years of relevant experience, a degree in structural/civil

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (required).
• Analytical mindset with good judgement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Proficient with technical writing, office software, and basic modelling tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection and analysis from sites, blueprints, GIS data, and surveys.
• Perform basic professional structural engineering work evaluating site conditions and compliance.
• Support development of design requirements, models, and safety considerations.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation with calculations and sketches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project execution and site work.
