HDR, Inc. seeks a Substation Site Civil Engineer to join our Power Delivery team in North Carolina.

You will provide engineering design and technical support for high-voltage substation projects across their lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable infrastructure. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and a PE license, with 5+ years of site civil design experience in the power sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering is required.
• PE license recognized by the licensing board for the position's location is required.
• Experience executing projects within the Power Market Sector is required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and standard Power Market Sector design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee site civil design tasks for high-voltage substation projects.
• Establish technical standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary substation teams.
• Prepare/review construction specifications and materials.
• Submit permits and coordinate with authorities.
• Monitor industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Perform quality checks per HDR QMS and review peers' work.
• Mentor EITs or Designers; support multiple projects across locations.
• Possibly develop technical papers/presentations for industry conferences.
