Job summary

Exelon seeks a Trainee Substation Shift Technician to report to multiple locations with 8-week rotations, completing ~18 months of instruction toward a Substation Shift Technician role in a transmission/distribution discipline.

You will learn substation operations, safety standards, and perform live testing and troubleshooting with guidance from Lead Technicians, including high voltage work and routine inspections.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a technical or vocational field is preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime and on call when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field operation and maintenance tasks in substations.
• Assist Senior Shift Substation Technicians in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Perform monthly inspections and data recording of equipment.
• Assist with installation of mobile substations and ensure work conforms to safety standards.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and document testing results.
