Job summary

Ameren Illinois is looking for a Substation Relay Technician to install, test, and maintain protective relays and related HV equipment at Maryville, IL. You will work on electro-mechanical and microprocessor relays, SCADA RTUs, and high voltage configurations, with a requirement for an associate degree and a valid driver's license.

The role includes overtime, on-call duties, and potential annual incentive pay.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology required or unofficial transcript considered.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Overtime and emergency callouts available.
• High level of computer literacy required.
• Knowledge of data communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, DNP3) is a plus.
• Prior experience in electric/gas utility or high voltage industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test, and maintain protective and control relays (electro-mechanical and microprocessor based).
• Work with high voltage transformers and circuit breakers’ internal circuitry.
• Perform high voltage switching and support field operations.
