PROENERGY seeks a Senior Protection & Controls Engineer to lead electrical design on EPC substations projects, owning quality and coordinating with the internal team and clients. The role emphasizes mentoring, process improvement, and delivering compliant protection schemes.

Based in Leawood, KS, the position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years in substations/power, and strong analytical and leadership skills to ensure safe, reliable power delivery per industry codes.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• Six (6) years of experience in substations, switchyards, fossil fuels, power or generation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with aggressive schedules.
• Experience creating grounding, area classifications, power, single lines, schematics, and motor control drawings.
• Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, API, NEC, NESC and other industry codes and standards.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, etc.).
• Familiar with high/medium/low voltage equipment and protective device coordination.
• Proficiency in relay coordination and arc flash analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Manage scope, budget, and schedule for electrical discipline on assigned projects.
• Provide third-party engineering oversight and lead Substation team activities.
• Execute electrical design and serve as engineer of record when needed.
• Perform/ Review complex electrical tasks using current standards and software.
• Prepare load lists, power system studies, layouts, and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate RFIs, deliverable reviews, and change orders with clients and EPC team.
• Review vendor documents to ensure spec/data-sheet compliance.
• Mentor and develop team members and improve processes.
