Job summary

HDR Engineering is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to join a growing team of Power Delivery professionals. Opportunities are available in multiple locations including Seattle, WA.

Primary responsibilities include scope, schedule, and budget support for substation projects, with an emphasis on grounding, protective relays, and control systems. Required are a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a PE license, and at least 4 years in substation design, plus proficiency with AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in substation design.
• Experience with One Line Diagrams, Grounding, and Relay/Control Systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office and electrical design software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets and ensure adherence.
• Understand substation design including grounding, lighting protection, and control buildings.
• Prepare studies, load calculations, and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate design activities with Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission teams.
• Mentor less-experienced staff and assist project execution.
