Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. in the Greater Pittsburgh Area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our Electric Utilities project management team.

You will assist in overseeing project inception through closeout, coordinating schedules, materials, safety, and on-site field activities. The role offers growth toward project management, requires 3–5 years in PM, a related Bachelor's, strong communication, and willingness to travel to site locations in Western Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Related Field.
• 3-5 Years Project Management Experience.
• Experience in Commercial / Industrial T&D or Experience in Management Preferred.
• Must exhibit strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Must be competent in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
• Must be competent in scheduling software (P6) and provide schedule updates as required.
• Must be organized, self-motivated, coachable, and detail oriented.
• Must be able to work well in a group setting and manage simultaneous tasks.
• Must be willing to travel as needed. Travel and lodging costs are reimbursable.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to frequent construction sites.
• Good Understanding of basic financial planning and forecasting.
• Ability to make good judgment based on facts and data
• This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety procedures on site and report safety issues.
• Support Senior Project Management Staff to drive tasks to completion.
• Provide regular updates on tasks to align with project status.
• Attend project meetings to track progress and gather required information.
• Participate in on-site field walkdowns and contribute to project goals.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
• Assist with learning multiple software systems as required.
