Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. in Greensburg, PA is seeking a Substation Planner to support planning, scheduling, and technical coordination for substation operations and construction.

You will collaborate with engineers, field crews, and contractors to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant work; responsibilities include planning, documentation, and progress reporting to management.

On-site role with travel to sites as needed and the chance to grow within a critical utility infrastructure team.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
• If no degree, a minimum of three years of relevant utility, substation, or construction experience required.
• Knowledge of substation equipment, transmission/distribution systems, and safety standards.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and project coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule substation maintenance, construction, and capital projects to support reliability.
• Coordinate work activities, staffing, equipment, and contractor resources.
• Maintain accurate records of facility additions and modifications.
• Track project status and provide status reports and metrics.
• Support regulatory inspection preparation and closeout documentation.
• Travel to substations and construction sites as required.
